Kevin Hart to Revive WLF to Compete with XFL and The Rock

What a way to kick off April! On the first day of the month we’re hearing major news that you’d be a foolish not to love.

Just now on Twitter, Kevin Hart announced he will be reviving the World League of Football to compete against the XFL and best-friend Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Kevin Hart The Rock

Since working together on 2016’s Central Intelligence, Kevin Hart and The Rock have become one of the biggest bromances in Hollywood. They joke with each other about the pettiest things, like a fan who wore a t-shirt repping Johnson over Hart.

Now, it looks like Hart is taking things to a whole new level. Kevin Hart has a lot on his plate if he plans to revive the World League of Football by the end of 2023. But, who knows, maybe he’ll follow in the footsteps of The Rock and push it out a year (or two).

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was part of the ownership group that purchased the XFL from Vince McMahon back in 2020. After hoping to return in 2022, things took a slight detour up-north when the league started discussions with the CFL. After months without news, they jointly agreed to go their own ways for now.

The XFL has a new return date, February 18th, 2023 and the wheels are now starting to move. We’ve seen the new ownership group start hiring back in 2021, and is actively scouting at the moment. Next stop, the leagues combine in June where they will get a better look at the prospective players for 2023.

With the USFL already serving as competition, the league has a new contender in Kevin Hart’s WLF.
