Jon Toth, Former DC Defenders C, Signs with Cleveland Browns

With the NFL season furiously approaching we’ve seen more former XFL players get tryouts and signed by multiple NFL franchises. The closer the season gets, the more names we see getting that opportunity.

Today is no different. The Cleveland Browns have just announced that they have signed former DC Defenders center Jon Toth.

Toth (6-5, 310) went undrafted out of Kentucky in 2017, and is officially in his first season in the NFL. The 49ers contemplated signing Toth as an undrafted rookie that spring. He ended up opting to have a disc in his back repaired instead. The Eagles signed him to their practice squad in in 2017, but released him in the final cuts before the 2018 season.

Former All-SEC UK center Jon Toth was the fourth offensive lineman taken by the DC Defenders in the inaugural XFL Draft. With the Defenders, Toth has displayed massive improvement to his power and has shown the ability to maintain blocks for an extended period.

Toth becomes the third former XFL players to join the Browns this off-season. He follows Seattle Dragons guard Michael Dunn and Tampa Bay Vipers wide receiver Ricky Walker.

As the NFL season gets closer we expect to see more XFL guys make the jump to the NFL. You can stay up to date with all the latest transactions with our XFL to NFL Tracker.
