Over the past few days, the Houston Gamblers have been busy in UFL free agency. The team has signed TE Armani Rogers and DE Kenny Dyson to the roster, while also losing a cornerback in the process.

Armani Rogers is an intriguing signing for Houston. He’s a freak of an athlete, but just hasn’t been able to stay healthy in the NFL – suffering two torn achilles over the last three years. Rogers actually tore his achilles this past March. 11 months removed from that injury, though, he’s ready to make a return to the gridiron.
Interestingly enough, Rogers played quarterback in college, and holds the NCAA record for the longest run by a quarterback with a 99 yard scamper at UNLV. Collegiately, he wrapped up his career at Ohio, which led to NFL opportunities in Washington, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Buffalo. As long as he can stay on the football field, Armani has the potential to be one of the top tight ends in the UFL this year.
Up front, the Gamblers gained a legitimate talent in Kenny Dyson at defensive end. Dyson was an absolute menace at Bryant University, racking up 104 tackles, 33.5 TFL’s, 24.5 sacks (3rd all-time at Bryant), and three forced fumbles.
Coming out of college, Kenny signed with the Carolina Panthers as an UDFA in 2024. He was activated a couple of times over two seasons with the Panthers, recording two tackles. In a room that features the likes of Malik Fisher, Christopher Allen, and Shaka Toney, Dyson will fit in as an immediate potential starter for Houston.
Roster Losses
CB LaMareon James: It remains unclear as to why the Gamblers let LaMareon James go – one of their UFL draft picks last month. The former TCU product has NFL experience with a couple of teams already. Maybe, Sumlin has his eyes set on another potential DB, but no moves have been made yet.
