Green Bay Packers Sign Battlehawks Safety Trey Dean III

It’s been a busy week for UFL athletes heading to Green Bay. On Monday, the Packers signed St. Louis Battlehawks safety Trey Dean III, alongside acquiring Dallas Renegades safety Tra Fluellen.

Trey Dean worked out for Green Bay on Monday, alongside Fluellen – and Orlando Storm safety Josh Minkins. Dean impressed enough at his tryout to earn a contract, which isn’t too surprising given his background.

Trey entered the UFL in 2025. He was a late season signing for the DC Defenders – ultimately helping the team win a championship as he generated a couple of turnovers during their title run.

It was a unique year for Trey in the UFL. He was supposed to return to DC, but didn’t show up in camp. Then, all of a sudden, he signed with the Louisville Kings early in the year after they lost Kenny Robinson.

Trey lasted all but one game with the Kings. He was cut, and then found himself with the St. Louis Battlehawks. Corey Chamblin, Assistant Coach of the Year in the UFL, made great use out of Dean. Trey played in six games in Battlehawk blue, totaling 17 tackles and a sack, alongside six defensive stops.

This won’t be Trey’s first rodeo in the NFL. He spent time with the New York Jets, and also was acquired by the Kansas City Chiefs during their playoff campaign in 2024.

Dean played all of his college football at Florida, racking up 259 tackles, 13.5 TFL’s, four interceptions, and 24 PBU’s to his name.
