FCF Reportedly Finalizing a Deal with Antonio Brown To Serve as Head Coach

This has been quite the week for Antonio Brown. Last week he walked off the field mid-game, and subsequently was cut from the Buccaneers. Since then, there’s been a whirl wind coming out of the Brown camp.

Earlier this week he outlined his reasons for leaving the team, accusing the Buccaneers staff of trying to force him to play while injured. He even went as far to release his own medical records in an attempt to back up his story.

Friday Antonio Brown joined the Full Send Podcast, where he alleged that Tampa Bay Bandits head coach Tood Haley text him asking if he wanted to join the team. Needless to say AB was not interested.

Well, now it seems we have more spring football related Antonio Brown news.

Friday afternoon ESPN published a piece that may give us some insight on Brown’s short term future. According to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, Fan Controlled Football (FCF) is working on finalizing an agreement to bring Antonio Brown in as a coach.

In the meantime, Brown said he plans to be a coach for a team in the Fan Controlled Football League (FCF) — a league that featured Johnny Manziel last year and has owners that include Marshawn Lynch, Austin Ekeler and Tiki and Ronde Barber.

A source confirmed to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert that the league is working on an agreement to finalize Brown as a coach.

The social media minds behind FCF were quick to jump on the Brown’s viral exit this past Sunday. After an initial tweet from the league, they showed that they were swiftly block by AB.

The block didn’t last long though, as the league shorty after shared that Antonio Brown has taken them out of the dog house.

Clearly this is an interesting development in this whole thing. FCF has definitely carved a niche out for themselves, but this year the landscape is a little different.

This time around, the league is going to have direct competition in the new USFL. That being said, they’re expanding their reach thanks to deals with NBC and DAZN. They’re also expanding for season v2.0, so bringing in a big name like AB could be a huge positive for the league.

Of course, everyone has their opinions on the situation, but can you really blame FCF for trying to make this happen?

We won’t fault them at least.
