Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Comments on Colin Kaepernick Joining the XFL

Last week the rumors were confirmed when the USFL and XFL put out a joint statement announcing their intent to merge.

Fans had been hearing rumors that that the two leagues were working towards joining forces, and it was expected that a deal was close to being finalized.

Although the deal is still in the works, both leagues wanted to let their fans, staff and players know what was going on in the background.

Naturally, beyond the league accounts, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took to Instagram to repeat the joint statement when he was asked about Colin Kaepernick taking his talents to the spring.

If you’ve been in the dark, Colin Kaepernick has been back in the news because he’s been pitching his talents to the New York Jets after losing Aaron Rogers in the first game of the NFL season.

A fan commented on the post, “This is where Kap should play if he wants to prove he still can.” The Rock replied, “we met with Kap and his agents (whom I like a lot) earlier this year. Good meeting, looked to create opportunity for him but I don’t think it’ll happen. We’ll see.”

Kaepernick has been trying to find a spot in the NFL since his controversial exite 7 years ago. His name is repeatidly mentioned when it comes to spring football, but after many leagues have reached out he has never made the move.

If you were hoping to see Kapernick on the field for the XFL, USFL or whatever the new league is going to be called in 2024, it doesn’t look like it’s in the cards.
