XFL Renegades DT's Doug Costin & Tomasi Laulile Sign NFL Contracts | Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi

Doug Costin & Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi Sign UFL Contracts

Two more players signed UFL contracts on Thursday. DL Doug Costin made his return to Arlington, and OL Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi signed with the San Antonio Brahmas.

DL Doug Costin | Arlington Renegades

Doug Costin makes his return to Arlington, after playing in a few XFL games this past season. Costin won a Championship with the Renegades, totaling two tackles in four active matchups.

Costin is no stranger to spring football, having won a Championship with the Birmingham Stallions during the 2022 USFL season. Doug posted nine tackles and 0.5 sacks that year.

His spring football stints have led to NFL opportunities with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2022), and most recently, the Las Vegas Raiders. He played in a preseason game with Las Vegas in 2023, totaling one tackle against Dallas.

Doug Costin brings NFL experience to the table, playing in 12 games with the Jaguars in 2019, racking up 32 tackles. Now, he’ll return to Jay Hayes’ defense in the UFL.

OL Haggai Chisom Nbuduisi | San Antonio Brahmas

Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi has had one of the craziest stories you’ll ever hear in spring football. He grew up in Nigeria, not touching American football until he stumbled upon it on Youtube at 18 years old. From there, he began training with some friends, and working out whenever he possibly could.

After a couple years of grinding at his craft, Nbuduisi was spotted by UpRise Academy, who helped connect him to an NFL workout opportunity in London, back in 2021.

Haggai was picked up by the NFL’s IPPP (International Player Pathway Program), and ended up being allocated to the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. He appeared in one game, playing two snaps as an offensive lineman.

In 2023, Nbuduisi signed with the Denver Broncos. Interestingly enough, he played on the defensive line this time around, and posted two tackles. He signed to the team’s practice squad, but did not sign a futures deal, making him a free agent. Now, he’ll look to kickstart his pro career in the UFL with the San Antonio Brahmas.

Final Thoughts

The Arlington Renegades are slowly but surely filling out their roster, after leaving 15 spots over following the drafts. Arlington currently holds 69 players, with six openings remaining.

On the other hand, the San Antonio Brahmas have well over 90 players rostered that we know of. They will have to cut down quite a few before training camp begins in a few weeks.
