Another Battlehawk is headed to the NFL. Cornerback Sean Fresch Jr., who also served as a punt returner, is signing with the Denver Broncos, following a workout last week. Sources have confirmed the move to Pro Football Newsroom.
Sean Fresch Jr. has been in the UFL for the last couple of years. Last season, he was a late signing with the San Antonio Brahmas – but inserted himself into the starting lineup, and made enough plays to earn an NFL workout with the Eagles.
With the roster shakeup this year, Sean found himself with the St. Louis Battlehawks. Fresch, while undersized for a corner, does have positional flexibility. While he saw snaps on the outside in San Antonio, Corey Chamblin primarily used him in the slot this year.
Fresch was extremely active for the best defense in the UFL. He had 35 tackles, a pass breakup, 16 defensive stops, and two sacks on the year. With Fresch lining up in the slot, Chamblin wasn’t afraid to send him in on a blitz, which paid off with those two sacks.

Sean earned All-UFL honors this year as a specialist. He had 35 punt returns for 382 yards, averaging 10.9 yards per return. Fresch’s longest return was 50 yards, which came against Houston in week eight.
Now, Fresch will get an opportunity in Denver, after workouts with the Broncos and Texans last week. He is the second Battlehawks player to sign with the Broncos, as WR Hakeem Butler was added today as well.
