DC Defenders Continue Adding Receivers, Sign WR Isaiah Coulter

DC Defenders Continue To Sign WR’s, Add Isaiah Coulter

The DC Defenders have now added their third wide receiver in the last three days, with WR Isaiah Coulter. Coulter makes it twelve (!) wideouts on the Defenders current active roster.

The Rhode Island product finished his college career with 132 receptions for 1,855 yards, and 12 touchdowns. Coulter received an invite to the 2020 NFL Combine following his time at Rhode Island. At 6’2, 220 lbs, Coulter ran a 4.45 40-yard dash, with a 36” vertical. Coulter was later selected by the Houston Texans in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

A neck injury in Texans training camp put him out for several weeks on the injured reserve, and Coulter would only appear in one game during the 2020 season. Coulter was released by Houston the following preseason, later signing with the Chicago Bears. He appeared in three games in 2021, but did not register a reception.

Final Thoughts

Isaiah Coulter now finds himself in the United Football League with the DC Defenders, with just a few days until DC must cut down from 75 to 58 players. As mentioned, Coulter joins a crowded wide receivers room that also recently welcomed the additions of Mike Harley Jr. and Vyncint Smith. With speed an obvious priority, it will be interesting to see how Coulter fits into the mix.
