This past September news started making the rounds that the USFL and XFL were in talks to join forces. Shortly after the two leagues put out a joint statement announcing their intent to merge.

Since then we’ve potentially started to get a better view of what is in the works for the combined spring league.

Reports have surfaced that point to all eight USFL returning in 2024, with the addition of four XFL locations.

Although it’s been said that a merger could become official, no official date has been set. Additionally, many have wondered if Dany Garcia and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will continue to be involved.

Today, we may have a sign that could give us the answer to both of those questions. XFL co-owner Dany Garcia has removed all mentions of the XFL from all of her social media profiles.

Interestingly enough, Garcia’s Instagram still displays XFL in the bio. In fact, she posted a throwback to a pumpkin with the old XFL logo carved into it just earlier today.

This does not mean that Dany Garcia is not going to be involved, it could be that she’s getting ready for a new name.

Adding more fuel to the fire, it looks as if Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has also removed the XFL from his bios on social media as well.

At minimum, this signals to us that an announcement is right around the corner.

This is definitely an interesting development during the wait, but we’ll keep you posted as more information comes out in regards to the merger between the USFL and XFL.
