This past Monday, the United Football League (UFL) saw a few notable transactions hit the wire. The Birmingham Stallions made a change at Defensive End, while the DC Defenders and Louisville Kings each signed a player.
Birmingham Stallions
DE Phillip Webb, Signed
DE Ronnie Perkins, Released
After Ronnie Perkins had originally been protected by Birmingham, the Stallions now see him hit the waiver wire. We’re told that Ronnie wasn’t 100% locked in when it comes to playing for Birmingham. He is exploring options, which potentially includes another UFL team. It’s a tough loss for Birmingham, considering Ronnie’s success last season (when healthy). He’s one of the top edge prospects in the league.
Webb played his college football at LSU and Jackson State. He only appeared in three games for the Tigers across two seasons. Jackson State brought along more success for Phillip, who notched 63 tackles, 16 TFL’s, and six sacks across 25 games played. Few edge rushers had more quarterback pressures than Webb in the SWAC Conference.
This earned Phillip an NFL opportunity with the Miami Dolphins in 2025, attending their rookie mini-camp. He then went up north, playing in the CFL this past summer – but did not make any regular season appearances in Winnipeg or Hamilton.
DC Defenders
OG Solomon Kindley, Signed
The DC Defenders came through with a major scoop, adding Solomon Kindley to their offensive line. Kindley is a veteran, as a former 4th round NFL draft pick with the Miami Dolphins. He made 15 starts, appearing in 29 games over two seasons in Miami.

It’s been a little while since Solomon was on a professional roster, though. He was let go by the Giants from their practice squad in 2023. With that said, Kindley is an NFL draft pick for a reason, and has the physical tangibles needed to elevate this DC O-Line to another level.
Louisville Kings
LB Cam Gill, Signed
One of the biggest scoops yet is linebacker Cam Gill, who signs with the Louisville Kings. Chris Redman isn’t playing around – he’s going for a Championship in his first year as a Head Coach.
Cam had an outstanding collegiate career, as a Two-time NEC Defensive Player of the Year at Wagner College. In just 45 games, Gill racked up 34.5 sacks and 57.5 tackles for loss, which led to All-American First Team honors as well.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came calling for Gill quickly. He spent almost five seasons with the team, which included a Super Bowl victory over Kansas City, where he sacked Patrick Mahomes. Gill most recently saw 10 games of action with the Carolina Panthers, notching 22 tackles in 2024. Cam has 51 tackles and 2.5 sacks to his name in the NFL.
Cam joins a solid edge/linebacker room in Louisville already – but don’t be surprised if he immediately takes a starting role. His resume speaks for itself.
