McGhin was a key piece to the Arlington Renegades offensive line in 2023. He played – and started – all ten regular season games for Arlington.
He eventually won the XFL Championship with the team, as the Renegades pulled off a 35-26 upset against the DC Defenders in San Antonio.
Over the past couple of years, Garrett McGhin has shined bright in the spring football scene. In 2022, he played for the USFL’s New Jersey Generals, earning All-USFL honors after posting impressive numbers with the team.
New Jersey boasted one of the top rushing attacks in the league that year, largely due to the efforts of lineman like McGhin.
After an impressive stint in the USFL, McGhin signed with the New York Giants. McGhin played well, but was ultimately cut from the roster. He ended up signing with the Renegades for the 2023 XFL season.
Now, he has the opportunity to pursue his NFL dreams with the Buffalo Bills, who need some depth at the offensive line position. With just one preseason game left, McGhin will have to impress in order to make the roster, or the practice squad.
Garrett McGhin is the 57th XFL player to officially sign a contract with an NFL team.
