New Jersey Generals Sign USFL Draft Pick CB Derrick Langford | San Antonio Brahmas, Jaylen Twyman, Tariqious Tisdale

Brahmas Sign Derrick Langford, Jaylen Twyman, Tariqious Tisdale

With some of the injuries and changes to the San Antonio Brahmas roster the past couple of weeks, they’ve made some moves. DT Jaylen Twyman, DE Tariqious Tisdale, and DB Derrick Langford have all signed contracts with the team.

DT Jaylen Twyman

Jaylen Twyman comes in to replace an injured Jalen Dalton. Dalton went to the injured reserve list earlier this week.

Twyman was recently with the Birmingham Stallions, and only played in one game this year. He was active in week two against Michigan, seeing the field for 26 snaps. His Defensive Grade for that game was 79.8, via PFF.

Jaylen brings pro experience to the table, and will be a depth piece down the stretch of the season for San Antonio.

DE Tariqious Tisdale

Tariqious Tisdale has had a rather unique journey over the past couple of years. Tisdale was drafted by the XFL’s Roughnecks in 2022, but was traded to the DC Defenders.

DC released him, and he then ended up playing with the Seattle Sea Dragons. Tisdale posted five tackles and two sacks with the Sea Dragons that year, but the team ended up dissolving in the merger.

This led to Tisdale being brought back by DC during the Dispersal Draft process. Tariqious was released yet again in Training Camp, and has since remained a free agent. Now, he’ll look to find a new home with the San Antonio Brahmas.

DB Derrick Langford

Langford is an intriguing signing as well. With the release of Gavin Heslop, Derrick fills a void in the secondary. He was originally signed by the New Jersey Generals, prior to their dissolvement.

Langford began his collegiate career at the City College of San Francisco, where he played well. Derrick racked up 30 tackles and an interception in his lone season there, before transferring to Washington State.

Upon arrival in Washington, Derrick saw a limited role for the first couple of seasons. He only made one start in his first 14 games.

However, his final two seasons at Washington State were quite impressive. He started in his final 26 games of action, posting 78 tackles and four interceptions in what was a dominant campaign.

Derrick Langford was signed as an UDFA with the New York Jets, spending time with them in training camp. Now, he’ll look to kickstart his pro career in the UFL.

Final Thoughts

General Manager Marc Lillibridge continues to bring NFL-caliber talent to this team, and these signings in particular help finetune the roster as we approach the playoffs.

San Antonio has yet to clinch a postseason berth, but they are on the verge of doing so. A win this week, and a loss from DC, means that the Brahmas will get in officially.

The San Antonio Brahmas host the Arlington Renegades this week, at 3pm ET on Sunday.
