The San Antonio Brahmas continue to bring in free agents for the 2025 UFL season. In their latest batch, the Brahmas signed RB La’Damian Webb, WR Aaron Nelson, and DE John Morgan.

RB La’Damian Webb
Joining the backfield is La’Damian Webb – an intriguing prospect out of South Alabama. Webb was back and forth between JUCO schools early on, spending two years at Jones County JC. Interestingly enough, those two seasons were split – with one year at Florida State in between.
At Jones County, Webb totaled 2,340 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns – dominating at that level. This led to an FBS opportunity at South Alabama, where he thrived. Webb tallied 2,067 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns across two seasons there, earning All-Sun Belt Conference Third Team honors during his senior campaign.
Advantage La’Damian Webb.

With Morgan Ellison no longer on the team – and considering Anthony McFarland has yet to re-sign, Webb could prove to be a big pickup for this backfield. Most recently, La’Damian had an NFL mini-camp invite with the Miami Dolphins.
WR Aaron Nelson
Aaron Nelson makes his way back to the spring football scene, after originally being selected by the St. Louis Battlehawks during the XFL’s Combine Draft back in 2023.

Nelson played the entirety of his college football at Delaware Valley, recording 1,395 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns across four seasons. He had a productive junior year in particular, with 623 yards and five scores.
Nelson is an interesting pickup for San Antonio. They already feature plenty of depth at the wide receiver position. Aaron will need to have a very impressive Training Camp in order to crack this roster, because it won’t be easy to get past the likes of Kirklin, Smith, Stevenson, and others on the depth chart.
DE John Morgan
Another position group that the San Antonio Brahmas are loaded at: the defensive line. Will Reed’s defense posted the most sacks of any unit in the UFL last year, with some tremendous talent at the position.
Now, that squad just gained even more depth. John Morgan has signed with the Brahmas, following a preseason stint with the New England Patriots.
John Morgan III with a HUGE play. The sack is his 2nd of the game, 4th TFL. #Pitt

Morgan played most of his college football at Pittsburgh, totaling 73 tackles and 14.5 sacks across five seasons there. He transferred to Arkansas for his final year of eligibility, not making any starts – but seeing action in all 11 matchups. John posted 15 tackles and two sacks with the Razorbacks in 2023.

With the Patriots this past preseason, Morgan notched two tackles, and a sack. Now, he’ll look to kickstart his professional career in the UFL, with the San Antonio Brahmas.
Final Thoughts
Of the three signings in this batch, two are par for the course for General Manager Marc Lillibridge. Both Webb and Morgan are NFL prospects, who will no doubt make an impact in San Antonio if given the chance this year.
That said, Aaron Nelson is a bit of a head scratcher. He doesn’t bring anything new to the table for the Brahmas, and isn’t likely to make this roster unless this team has some severe injuries in camp. Maybe he’ll surprise us – but that spot feels like it could’ve been put to better use.
