It was a busy Thursday for the San Antonio Brahmas. The team has agreed to terms with three players: WR Greg Ward, WR Racey McMath, and S Joshuah Bledsoe.
WR Greg Ward
#UFL News: WR Greg Ward, who played pro football in San Antonio with the AAF's Commanders, has signed with the San Antonio Brahmas.

Greg Ward is back in spring football, and he’s back in San Antonio for it. It’s one of the sweetest storylines of this entire UFL offseason. Ward played with the San Antonio Commanders when the AAF kicked off in 2019, and was one of the leading receivers on that team. Greg posted 214 yards with the Commanders in eight games, prior to the league folding. He also made an impact as a returner, winning Special Teams player of the week honors in week six.

This led to an NFL opportunity with the Eagles. Interestingly enough, Greg had already been with Philadelphia for a couple of years, but wasn’t on the active roster. When he returned to Philadelphia, Ward saw quite a bit of action. Across a few seasons, Greg Ward compiled 768 yards and 10 touchdowns with Philadelphia.
Most recently, Ward was with the Indianapolis Colts this past preseason. After being cut by the Colts, Ward now makes his way back to spring ball – signing with the Brahmas.
Greg Ward couldn't hold back the emotions after catching the go-ahead TD. His journey has been awesome:

Greg’s journey to pro football was rather unique. He played quarterback in college at Houston, throwing for 8,688 yards and 52 touchdowns across his career there. It wasn’t until the NFL came along that Ward converted into a wide receiver.
WR Racey McMath

San Antonio’s sweep of former NFL talent continues, signing WR Racey McMath. At 6’3”, 217 lbs., Racey is an outside threat who has the size and speed necessary to be a downfield threat.
McMath played his college football at LSU, seeing some decent production despite playing behind pieces such as Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. Racey totaled 522 yards and four touchdowns at LSU.
Racey McMath played at LSU from 2017-2020 and was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2021 #NFL draft and spent time with the Colts and the Cowboys.

This led to McMath being drafted by the Tennessee Titans, in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent a few years with the Titans, totaling four receptions for 48 yards. Racey was recently with the Dallas Cowboys, but was cut in Training Camp. Now, he’ll have a chance to get his pro career off the ground, in the UFL. General Manager Marc Lillibridge has consistently targeted prospects like Racey this offseason – NFL-caliber guys who simply haven’t seen the field much, and need an opportunity to showcase what they can do.
S Joshuah Bledsoe
Breaking: The San Antonio Brahmas are signing Safety Joshuah Bledsoe, per @uflanalyst.@jiggybled played his college ball at Missouri, and was a 6th round draft pick by the #Patriots in 2021.

While it hasn’t been officially announced by the league, the Brahmas have also added safety Joshuah Bledsoe according to Michael Del Negro.
Bledsoe is another player who probably should be on an NFL roster, but hasn’t had the opportunity to fully prove himself during the regular season.

Joshuah played his college football at Missouri, working his way into a starting role during the final two seasons. Bledsoe totaled 130 tackles, 18 PBU’s, a sack, and an interception during his time with Mizzou.
This led to Bledsoe being drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft. He’s been with the Patriots the last few years, and was active for a few games during the 2022 season. He’s posted 24 tackles with the team in preseason (‘22-24), but was cut this past August.

San Antonio is a team that featured one of the top secondaries in the UFL – but continue to make adjustments. Lillibridge has been active in acquiring prospects for Will Reed’s defense, and it’s likely that San Antonio’s unit is even better in 2025.
What are your thoughts on Greg Ward and Racey McMath signing with this Brahmas squad? Will Joshuah Bledsoe start for San Antonio next year? Let us know down in the comments below, or join the conversation on Discord!
