Birmingham Stallions Sign Six New Players, Lose One

With A.J. McCarron at the helm, the Birmingham Stallions are wasting no time following the UFL Draft to sign more players. This week, Birmingham added six new athletes to the roster, while also losing one.

Let’s take a look at who the Stallions picked up on Tuesday, January 20th.

Offensive Signings

RB Jared “Snoop” Conner
WR Jabre Barber
TE Jude Wolfe

The Stallions have added a third running back to the roster, bringing in Jared “Snoop” Conner. Snoop is a recognizable figure down in the south, playing his college football at Ole Miss. Snoop rushed for 1,580 yards and 26 touchdowns during his career at Ole Miss, which led to the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting him in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft. Conner rushed for 42 yards and one score as a rookie, but has struggled to stick on a roster since. He’s a bulky runner, at 5’10”, 222 lbs. packed of muscle.

Jabre Barber is another name that Stallions fans may be familiar with. He’s a wide receiver who began his career at Troy, tallying 75 receptions for 999 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. Barber transferred to Texas A&M for his final season, recording 381 yards and two scores. He received a rookie mini-camp invite from the Browns, but now receives his first true pro opportunity with Birmingham in the UFL. Jabre ran a 4.59 40 yard dash at his Pro Day.

The Stallions have also signed Jude Wolfe at tight end, a young prospect who was an under-the-radar name coming into the UFL Draft process. Jude is a big-bodied TE at 6’6”, 247lbs. – recording 223 yards and three touchdowns with the San Diego Aztecs in college. He’s a strong blocker as well, with a 77.5 Pass Blocking Grade via PFF in his final season.

Defensive Signings

DT Ryder Anderson
DT Ricky Correia
LB Johnny Buchanan

LB Stone Blanton – Cut

A few days ago, A.J. McCarron posted to his Instagram Story that he was looking for DT’s. It appears that he has found a couple, signing Ryder Anderson and Ricky Correia to the roster this week.

Ryder Anderson is a huge pickup for Birmingham, with flexibility at tackle/edge. He played at Ole Miss for the majority of his career in college, totaling 98 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 15 TFL’s, and a forced fumble as a Rebel. Anderson transferred to Indiana for his final year of eligibility, with 47 tackles, 7.5 TFL’s, and 2.5 sacks as a senior. Ryder was signed by the Giants as an UDFA, with a few years in the NFL under his belt heading into the UFL.

Ricky Correia is another impressive signing for the Stallions. The former California Golden Bear was recently in the CFL, playing for the Toronto Argonauts. At just 23 years old, Ricky is a young prospect who put together an excellent college career with 105 tackles, five TFL’s, 2.5 sacks, and three PBU’s at Cal.

Finally, the Stallions have taken a chance on Johnny Buchanan – who has been out of football for a couple of years. Buchanan played his college ball at Delaware, where he showed improvement with each and every season. Johnny had a ridiculous campaign as a senior in 2022, totaling 150 tackles, 8.5 TFL’s, and 1.5 sacks in 13 games.

Buchanan was signed by the St. Louis Battlehawks ahead of the 2024 UFL season – but went to IR in training camp, and then retired from football to pursue wrestling. However, Johnny has now decided to return to the UFL, this time joining Birmingham’s linebacker unit.

Johnny will replace Stone Blanton, who was released by the Stallions after being drafted last week. Blanton went undrafted in 2025, following his playing career at South Carolina and Mississippi State.

Final Thoughts

The Birmingham Stallions are entering a brand new era, and one that is very exciting. A.J. McCarron has done an excellent job so far putting together a quality roster, one that is ready to compete for another Championship.

These latest signings are more proof of exactly that, as each piece has a legitimate opportunity to make this roster, and potentially start.
