Birmingham Stallions Sign Keaton Sutherland, Cut O’Shea Dugas

The Birmingham Stallions are loaded offensively, and they just keep getting better. The Stallions have added OG Keaton Sutherland out of Texas A&M, making his way to the roster ahead of the upcoming UFL season.

Keaton is a veteran who joins the offensive line, and is an excellent pickup by GM Paul Roell. Keaton played all of his college football at Texas A&M, starting in 31 of 42 games played there. As an Aggie, Sutherland was teammates with current Stallions TE Jace Sternberger.

Interestingly enough, it was Jace who helped push Keaton to sign with the UFL’s Stallions. Keaton was looking to sign with a team, and Sternberger helped direct him to Birmingham – as they look to win a fourth straight Championship.

Sutherland has a ton of NFL experience. He signed with the Bengals as an UDFA in 2019, and was on and off of their practice squad until 2022. Keaton has also had NFL stints with the Dolphins, Jaguars, Commanders, Texans, and 49ers. He’s played in six regular season games across that span. Most recently, Keaton was with the Jacksonville Jaguars this past preseason.

With Sutherland added to the line, it meant that a cut had to be made. O’Shea Dugas has been let go, after spending the last three seasons in Birmingham. Dugas started in every game with the Stallions in 2022, as they topped the Philadelphia Stars in that Championship.

Dugas missed a game in the 2023 season, but still started every matchup he was a part of. In 2023, O’Shea had a 72.2 Pass Blocking Grade, and a 62.0 Run Blocking Grade, according to PFF. He played in seven games in 2024, making just one start. He’s one of the “OG’s” that unfortunately will not be part of this organization moving forward.
