Birmingham Stallions Sign Free Agent Cornerback Madre Harper

The Birmingham Stallions have made their first move since the opening of USFL free agency, signing CB Madre Harper, the team announced yesterday.

Madre started his collegiate career at Oklahoma State and Southern Illinois – and got much more playing time at SIU.

Madre ultimately went undrafted in the 2020 NFL draft, and was signed as an UDFA by the Las Vegas Raiders. Madre played with the team up until final roster cuts, but he impressed enough for the Raiders to offer him a practice squad spot.

The Giants liked what they saw in Madre, and signed him off of the Raiders practice squad, giving him a signing bonus to get him to agree and sign.

Madre saw the most NFL action of his career with the Giants, playing in 9 games with them. Unfortunately, he was placed on IR towards the end of the season, he spent the 2021 offseason with the Giants, but was ultimately waived.

Madre re-signed with the Raiders practice squad again on September 2nd 2021, and was released after two weeks, shortly after he signed with the Carolina Panthers practice squad. He was on the Panthers practice squad until he was released in August of 2022.

The Steelers signed Madre to a reserves/futures deal on January 11th of 2023, where he spent time during the off-season with former NOLA Breakers CB Nevelle Clarke. Madre was released during final roster cuts.

The Stallions have sent multiple Cornerbacks to the NFL over the past two seasons, and being a position of need for the team, it’s no surprise that the Stallions and Zach Potter would go after an NFL vet.
