In the midst of some movement for the Birmingham Stallions, they’ve brought back a wide receiver. Kyric McGowan has re-signed with the team, the UFL announced on Monday night.
As if the Stallions weren’t already stacked at wide receiver already, they’ve added Kyric McGowan to the roster. Kyric is a versatile wideout, who’s already got some NFL experience under his belt heading into Birmingham.
McGowan began his college career at Northwestern, playing there from 2017-2020. He didn’t see a ton of action there at wide receiver, but flashed his ability to run the football. As a super senior, he transferred to Georgia Tech in 2021, leading the team with 467 yards and seven receiving touchdowns that year.

Kyric was signed by the Washington Commanders as an UDFA in 2022, remaining with the team until he was released from injured reserve in 2023. He has since had stints with the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, and CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.
McGowan was signed by Birmingham in January, but was released when the team brought in John Ross. Now, following the release of Ross and Laviska Shenault Jr., Kyric gets an opportunity compete in Birmingham.
