Birmingham Stallions Re-Sign All-USFL TE Jace Sternberger For 2024

Birmingham Stallions Re-Sign All-USFL TE Jace Sternberger

The legend is back. It was only a matter of time before Jace Sternberger re-signed with the Birmingham Stallions. The All-USFL tight end has officially returned to the team, beefing up a tight end room that is already stacked.

Jace Sternberger joined the Birmingham Stallions ahead of the 2023 USFL season. The former 3rd round NFL draft pick had a lot to prove, and he did exactly that and more.

From the get go, Sternberger was a go-to target for Alex McGough in Birmingham. He was consistently in the right place at the right time, making all sorts of plays as the Stallions cruised to an 8-2 record.

Jace Sternberger finished the regular season with 517 receiving yards. In addition, he set a modern USFL record with seven receiving touchdowns.

He continued his dominance in the postseason, as the Stallions rode their way to a second Championship in two years. During the year, QB Alex McGough spoke on Jace’s ability to generate big-time plays on offense:

After his exceptional performance in the USFL, Jace garnered NFL interest. He ended up signing with the Buffalo Bills, spending preseason with the team.

Sternberger was ultimately released before the NFL regular season. After several weeks as a free agent, he now returns to the Birmingham Stallions for 2024.

Final Thoughts

This is a major re-signing for GM Zach Potter. The young star has put together one of the top teams in all of spring football, and now brings back an elite offensive playmaker.

As it stands right now, the Birmingham Stallions have three tight ends:

Jace Sternberger
Chris Pierce Jr. (FA signing)
Thaddeus Moss
