After a 1-3 start to the UFL season, A.J. McCarron and the Birmingham Stallions have not been afraid to make some changes. On Sunday, the team made a blockbuster trade with Orlando, acquiring QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson – sending off Matt Corral in the process.
On top of that, there’s been movement on their D-Line. After losing standout DT Amani Bledsoe in the trade with the Storm, Perrion Winfrey has also been released. Winfrey sent out a string of tweets on Sunday evening saying he quit on the team, but league sources have told Pro Football Newsroom that he was, in fact, released.
It’s a strange, unfortunate scenario for Birmingham. Perrion Winfrey is an incredibly talented interior lineman. Last year, he earned All-UFL honors – which landed him a spot on the Dallas Cowboys’ 53 man roster.
Perrion joined the Stallions a couple of weeks into the season. He didn’t make much of an impact in week three, but against Orlando, Winfrey totaled four tackles – three of which were defensive stops. It appears that these were his last official snaps with the Stallions.
Tensions were high between Perrion and the coaching staff. The team actually attempted to trade Winfrey, but instead have let him walk.

Coe, the former Oklahoma Sooner (2021-23), was with Birmingham through training camp, inactive in Week 1 against Louisville, and then released.

In a corresponding move, Birmingham has re-signed Isaiah Coe to the defensive line. Coe was a UFL Draft pick by the St. Louis Battlehawks, and was with the team in 2025 during Training Camp. Isaiah was then brought to Birmingham in 2026 – making the original 50 man roster. He was released when Perrion Winfrey signed a couple of weeks back.
Coe began his college career at Iowa Western CC, posting 37 tackles and 6.5 sacks during the 2019 season. In 2021, Coe made the move to Oklahoma. Across three seasons, he totaled 55 tackles and three sacks. In his final year with the Sooners, Isaiah started in seven of 13 games played; with 26 tackles, 2.5 TFL’s, and three quarterback hurries.
Isaiah Coe was invited to mini-camp with the Indianapolis Colts, but remained unsigned. Recently, Coe attended “The Pro Showcase”, where he was unanimously viewed as the top DT in attendance.
