Pre-Draft Roster Preview: Birmingham Stallions

Birmingham Set to Host Championship Parade for Stallions

This past weekend the Birmingham Stallions edged out the Philadelphia Stars to win the inaugural USFL Championship. The game was hosted at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, serving as a nuetral location for the semifinals and championship.

Since the franchise claimed the trophy we’ve received a lot of questions on if Birmingham would host a championship parade for the Stallions.

Well, if you were one of those folks, we have some good news.

Ronald Gaines Jr. reports that Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin has confirmed that a parade will take place. At the time of publication the date is still to be determined.

Going into the half, it looked like the Stallions were going to run away with it. In the second, Case Cookus and the Stars came alive to give them a run for their money. In fact, Philadelphia took a slim 3-point lead late in the game. Unfortunately, Case Cookus broke his fibula late in the fourth, which gave Birmingham the opening they needed to come out on top.

Other than the playoffs, every game was held in Birmingham this season. The city was very supportive of the new football franchise, and with a championship in their belt, fans will have one more chance this year to see their team.

We’ll keep you posted as more information comes out on the upcoming championship parade, including date and time.
