Battlehawks Add Chris Garrett, Stallions Sign O’Shea Dugas

Battlehawks Add Chris Garrett, Stallions Sign O’Shea Dugas

It was a busy day of transactions for the UFL as a whole yesterday. There was some expected movement – and also a couple of surprises.

Battlehawks Sign Chris Garrett

The St. Louis Battlehawks made a couple of moves defensively. They have waived Elorm Lumor, which comes as a bit of a surprise. Lumor played nine snaps during their week one game, with an overall PFF grade of 65.3 – which is above average.

In his place, St. Louis has added DE Chris Garrett. Garrett was with the St. Louis Battlehawks during Training Camp, and was waived during the final cutdowns. Chris has spring ball experience, having played with the Houston Gamblers in 2023.

Stallions Sign O’Shea Dugas

The Birmingham Stallions have unfortunately lost a piece as well. Deonte Brown went down with an injury in week one, and is now on the injured reserve list.

This has resulted in OL O’Shea Dugas returning to the team. Dugas is a familiar face, having been a part of both Championship teams. O’Shea started in nine games during the 2023 season. He’ll be a perfect fill in while Brown is injured.

Defenders Release Jean Delance

To absolutely no one’s surprise, OT Jean Delance has been let go by the DC Defenders. Delance had one of the most detrimental performances you’ll ever see from an offensive lineman in this scene. Jean was responsible for taking away not just one – but two touchdowns – from DC on Sunday.

First, he was an ineligible man downfield on a touchdown pass in the first half. Then, as DC was about to potentially tie things up, he spit on Delontae Scott which resulted in a penalty. That delay caused Brahmas HC Wade Phillips to review the play originally, and saw that Delance committed a false start. His challenge worked, and the touchdown was taken away. Ta’amu then proceeded to throw a near pick six to Darrius Phillips.

Just disastrous all around. Delance finished the day with a PFF grade of 22.5. Yikes.

Injured Reserve Updates

Michigan Panthers: The Panthers placed DB KiAnte Hardin on the IR list. He played just three snaps on defense, but saw eight snaps on Special Teams. We are not sure what injury is for KiAnte quite yet.

San Antonio Brahmas: LB Nate Wieland has been placed on IR. This is a tough loss for San Antonio, Wieland was key on special teams, playing 10 snaps and having a PFF specialist grade of 90.9. His defensive grade was fantastic as well, at 75.7.

Final Thoughts

Additionally, the Houston Roughnecks also signed Safety Rashad Torrence II. To read more about that acquisition, click here.

With some injuries for a couple of teams, do not be surprised if they bring back some players who were already on the team in Training Camp.
