Atlanta Falcons Sign USFL DPOY Frank Ginda To Practice Squad

The Atlanta Falcons have brought back Frank Ginda, which is long overdue. Ginda spent a couple of weeks with Atlanta this past NFL preseason, but was ultimately let go on NFL cut down day.

While Atlanta planned to bring him back on the practice squad within a couple of weeks, it took much longer than anticipated for the Falcons to get around to re-signing Frank.

During the NFL preseason, Frank Ginda was outstanding. He made a major impact in week three, leading the team with 10 tackles despite playing just two quarters.

When it comes to spring football, Ginda is one of the top linebackers in the scene. He has been with a plethora of different teams, including organizations in the AAF, XFL, and USFL.

Most recently, Frank played with the Michigan Panthers in the USFL. In 2022, he was excellent, posting 90 total tackles and a sack.

However, Ginda took his game to an even higher level in 2023. Frank won Defensive Player of the Week four times – a modern USFL record. In addition, he ended up earning USFL Defensive Player of the Year honors, after registering:

104 tackles
1 sack

Frank helped lead the Michigan Panthers to the playoffs, where they fell just short against the Pittsburgh Maulers.

Final Thoughts

Now, he has another opportunity to pursue his NFL dreams, with the Atlanta Falcons. Had it not been for the national platform the USFL provided him with, who knows if this would have been made possible.
