After the XFL concluded their inaugural 2023 season, multiple athletes made their ways to NFL practice squads. DT LaCale London, who played for the St. Louis Battlehawks, landed with Atlanta. Now, he is officially signing to their 53 man roster, ahead of week eight in the NFL.
LaCale London was an outstanding defender for the St. Louis Battlehawks in 2023. He started in all ten games played, compiling 33 tackles, five TFL, 2 FR, and three sacks for a defense that thrived for most of the year. Following his impressive XFL stint, London signed with the Atlanta Falcons during preseason.
While LaCale did not make the original 53 man roster, he’s been making a noticeable impact. He has been activated for game day a couple of times, and so far has posted 4 tackles. London was excellent this past Sunday, with: three tackles, a TFL, and a fumble recovery against Tampa Bay.
Now, LaCale is making his way to the official 53 man roster. He had previously spent time in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, but for the most part, remained on the practice squad.
LaCale London is more proof as to why the XFL – and spring football in general – is so important. London took advantage of his opportunity with St. Louis, proving to be one of the top interior lineman in the league.
After the 2023 season, the XFL sent over 60 players to NFL teams during the preseason. Almost 20 landed on practice squads, and we’ve seen some come and go throughout the last several weeks.
We want to congratulate LaCale London on this incredible accomplishment, and wish him the best moving forward with the Falcons.
