Jerrod Clark & Brian Abraham Sign UFL Contracts

Arlington Renegades Sign Jerrod Clark & Spencer Rolland

With playoffs no longer in sight, the Arlington Renegades have made a couple of moves. They’ve re-signed DT Jerrod Clark and OL Spencer Rolland, while releasing DT Daviyon Nixon.

DT Jerrod Clark

Jerrod Clark had signed with the Renegades last offseason, but ended up receiving an NFL opportunity which he took advantage of. He was signed to a futures deal by the Carolina Panthers earlier this year, but got waived in early May – and now arrives back in Arlington.

Clark played his college football at Coastal Carolina. He missed the first two years there due to injury, but burst onto the scene in 2020, starting in 11 of 12 games on the defensive line. Clark totaled 31 tackles and two sacks that year.

Jerrod continued to see success in the following years. He played in all 13 games in 2021, starting 11 – racking up 33 tackles, four TFL’s, and two sacks. As a senior in 2022, Clark had 41 tackles, 10 TFL’s, and 3.5 sacks – as one of the leaders on the team in each category. Clark earned All-Sun Belt Third Team honors that year.

This led to an NFL opportunity for Jerrod, with the Los Angeles Chargers. Clark didn’t play in any regular season games with the Chargers, but was on the practice squad for over a year. He posted 11 tackles across two preseasons in LA.

OL Spencer Rolland

Spencer Rolland returns to the Renegades, after being cut in camp. He was one of their UFL College Draft picks, having been selected in the eighth round back in July.

Spencer began his collegiate career at Harvard, and earned First Team All-Ivy League honors during the 2021 season. In 2022, he made the move to North Carolina, and started in 26 games with the school. In 2023, Rolland was a William V. Campbell Trophy Semifinalist.

Rolland was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an UDFA, spending this past preseason with the team. Spencer had a solid Pass Blocking Grade of 67.9 via PFF, but was let go during roster cutdowns in August.

With some of the struggles that Arlington has had up front, Rolland makes his way back to the roster in an effort to show this organization what he’s capable of the next two weeks.

Daviyon Nixon Released

In a rather surprising move, the Renegades have released DT Daviyon Nixon. Nixon played 172 snaps through eight games with the team, and was a solid rotational piece in the trenches, with eight tackles and two QB hits on the year.

With Jerrod Clark returning to Arlington, though, the team had to clear space – and Bob Stoops has made it clear that he wants to keep a former OU guy like LaRon Stokes around.
