Arlington Renegades Sign DB Duron Lowe & LB Jordan Wright

Arlington Renegades Sign DB Duron Lowe & LB Jordan Wright

The Arlington Renegades are slowly but surely finalizing their roster for UFL training camp. DB Duron Lowe and LB Jordan Wright are the latest additions, bringing more depth and physicality to Jay Hayes’ defense.

LB Jordan Wright

Jordan Wright is an intriguing signing out of Kentucky, one who had a solid career across five years. Wright racked up 168 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and two interceptions during his time there.

His senior season in 2022 was quite impressive, as Wright posted 62 tackles, two sacks, and an interception. He started in 10 of 12 games played that year, and was a team captain as a super senior.

Jordan Wright was originally selected in the XFL Rookie Draft by the Renegades, and now signs with Arlington for the 2024 UFL season.

DB Duron Lowe

This secondary is going to look a lot different in Arlington this year. The team opted not to protect a few of their starters (Will Hill, De’Vante Bausby, Joe Powell, etc.) , bringing in several new faces. Now, the team has signed Duron Lowe, who will look to stabilize his professional career after a couple of NFL opportunities.

Lowe began his college career at Butler Community College. Across two seasons, he registered 26 tackles and an interception. From there, he spent two years at UTEP, with 44 tackles and two interceptions to his name across that span.

Duron Lowe then transferred to Liberty for his final year in 2022. Lowe started all 13 games, finishing with 31 tackles and two interceptions.

Duron was picked up by the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, participating in three preseason games with the team, totaling nine tackles. Most recently, he spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs during the 2023 NFL preseason.

Final Thoughts

General Manager Rick Mueller has looked to bring in quite a bit of new talent for the 2024 UFL season. While some might question this strategy considering the team won the XFL Championship last year, it also must be noted that the team had a 4-6 record – and just got hot at the right time in a bad division.

With 71 players rostered, the Renegades have four remaining openings for free agents. Training Camp begins on February 23rd, but free agency closes on the 14th, leaving about a week left for signings.
