Cincinnati Bengals Signing XFL Arlington Renegades QB Drew Plitt To PS | St. Louis Battlehawks

Arlington Renegades Re-Sign QB Drew Plitt In UFL Free Agency

The Arlington Renegades have brought back a familiar face, signing QB Drew Plitt for the 2024 UFL season. Drew spent the last few months with the Cincinnati Bengals, and now returns to Arlington to bring depth and competition to the QB room.

Drew Plitt began the XFL season as the starter for the Renegades. He started the first two matchups, as the team beat Vegas – but then fell to Houston.

This led to Bob Stoops making a quarterback change, handing the reins to Kyle Sloter. The next few weeks were pretty messy, and Sloter and Plitt split time, which led to instability within the offense.

Plitt eventually took back over in week seven, but suffered an injury. At the same time, Luis Perez joined the squad, and ended up earning the starting job for the rest of the year. While Drew ended up winning the XFL Championship with Arlington, he primarily rode the bench for the final half of the season.

In his time at quarterback with the Renegades, Drew Plitt threw for 668 yards and three touchdowns. He also tossed five interceptions, while completing 63% of his pass attempts.

Due to his prior experience with the Bengals, Cincinnati brought Plitt back for a time following the XFL season.

Now, he’ll look to compete for a roster spot with the Arlington Renegades in 2024.

Final Thoughts

General Manager Rick Mueller has a few spots remaining on the roster, making moves slowly but surely. The team just signed DB Duron Lowe and LB Jordan Wright, and now have 72 players under contract for the upcoming season.

It still remains to be seen on whether or not starting QB Luis Perez will be returning. Right now, the Renegades also feature Holton Ahlers and Lindsey Scott Jr.
