Following an injury to Marlon Mack, the Arizona Cardinals have turned to the USFL once again. Stevie Scott, running back for the Michigan Panthers, has officially signed with the team following a successful workout.
Stevie Scott has been in the USFL for the past two years. He’s provided the Michigan Panthers with consistency in the backfield, paired with All-USFL back Reggie Corbin.
In 2022, Scott rushed for 310 yards, and three touchdowns. Following that campaign, he was brought to the Denver Broncos during training camp, but was eventually let go.

Scott then re-signed with the Michigan Panthers for 2023. He had a similar year statistically, posting 295 rushing yards and one touchdown on the year.
Considering the Cardinals are lacking depth at the running back position, Stevie Scott will now look to fit into a role in the 53 man roster. He’ll have to prove it in training camp, but it’s the opportunity that matters.

Speaking of which, five Michigan Panthers players have signed to NFL teams, including:
WR Trey Quinn (Detroit)
WR Kaden Davis (Arizona)
DE Levi Bell (Seattle)
DB Josh Butler (Dallas)
Arizona has looked to the USFL quite often. They signed Scott’s Michigan teammate Kaden Davis a couple of weeks ago. In addition, they also picked up Stallions’ WR Davion Davis, and gave Generals’ long snapper Jordan Ober a workout.
Had it not been for the platform – and the national exposure – that the USFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have come along.
