Arizona Cardinals Sign Houston Gamblers OL Braylon Jones

Arizona Cardinals Sign Houston Gamblers OL Braylon Jones

The USFL has sent 36 players to the NFL. Houston Gamblers offensive lineman Braylon Jones has signed with the Arizona Cardinals, per his agent Brett Tessler.

Braylon Jones was a key piece to the Houston Gamblers offensive line this season in the USFL. He played in nine games for the team, starting in six of those.

The Gamblers featured one of the top rushing attacks in the USFL, largely due to the efforts of the offensive line who played at a high level. Jones was solid, and now has an opportunity to pursue his NFL dreams with the Arizona Cardinals.

So far, four Houston Gamblers have signed to NFL teams, including:

RB Aaron Shampklin (Los Angeles)
WR Isaiah Zuber (Las Vegas)
TE Josh Pederson (Jacksonville)

In addition, the Arizona Cardinals have been hungry for USFL athletes. They have signed Panthers WR Kaden Davis, Stallions WR Davion Davis, and Panthers RB Stevie Scott.

It’s excellent to see the NFL continuing to look to spring football for talent. Braylon Jones is an example of exactly that, having spent time previously with the Dallas Cowboys. After a successful stint in the USFL, he’s now headed back to the NFL.

Had it not been for the platform – and the national exposure – that the USFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have come along.
