UFL To NFL Rundown: 2025 Week Sixteen Action

While the UFL itself is seeing quite a bit of change – the UFL to NFL alumni continue to make a consistent impact at the highest level. This weekend, we saw quite a few players take the stage, with a couple making their 2025 season debuts (Perrion Winfrey, Chris Blair).

Let’s take a look at what went down in the NFL, from former USFL, XFL and UFL athletes.

Minnesota Vikings

DT Jalen Redmond, Renegades

Another week, another big stat-line for Jalen Redmond. Redmond, who’s arguably been Minnesota’s strongest lineman this year, racked up four tackles, a sack, a TFL, a PBU, and a QB hit, wreaking havoc in the backfield for Jaxson Dart & Co.

Atlanta Falcons

WR Chris Blair, Defenders
DT LaCale London, Battlehawks

LaCale London has been on a tear for the Falcons as of late, even with few snaps during several games. He had another strong outing, with one tackle and a TFL to his name.

Chris Blair finally made his regular season debut for Atlanta – but unfortunately did not record any statistics.

Dallas Cowboys

WR KaVontae Turpin, Generals
DT Perrion Winfrey, Stallions
K Brandon Aubrey, Stallions

KaVontae Turpin is a swiss army knife, something he’s proven to this Dallas organization for a few years. On Sunday, Turpin had two carries for 13 yards, two receptions for 14 yards, and six kick returns for 148 yards. Brandon Aubrey, who’s put together another Pro Bowl-esque campaign, hit his lone field goal attempt of the afternoon, alongside two XP’s.

Perrion Winfrey finally made his regular season debut, with Quinnen Williams on the bench. Winfrey made an impact, with two tackles, and two quarterback pressures. Winfrey had a 69.0 Defensive Grade, via PFF.

Cleveland Browns

K Andre Szmyt, Battlehawks
LS Rex Sunahara, Brahmas

Since a bit of a rocky start in Cleveland, Andre Szmyt has proven exactly why Dave Boller was so excited to bring him to the St. Louis Battlehawks two years ago. Szmyt was tremendous for Cleveland once again, with two field goals made (long of 41 yards), alongside two XP’s to total eight points on the afternoon.

Hopefully, the Browns activate Kaden Davis before the season is over. His chemistry with Shedeur Sanders in the preseason was undeniable.

Denver Broncos

DE Dondrea Tillman, Stallions
WR Michael Bandy, Roughnecks
LS Mitchell Fraboni, Maulers

While the Denver Broncos didn’t get the win on Sunday, Dondrea Tillman put together another strong performance, with three tackles (two solo). After scoring his first NFL career TD a week ago, Michael Bandy did not record any statistics for Denver this week.

Detroit Lions

RB Jacob Saylors, Battlehawks
K Jake Bates, Panthers

After a couple of weeks without much action, Jacob Saylors returned to Ford Field and showed up on special teams. Saylors had two kick returns for 57 yards, while also racking up two ST tackles on kick coverage.

It was a quiet day for Jake Bates, but he was consistent nonetheless. Bates hit one field goal, with three XP’s to his name as well.

Other UFL To NFL Performances

Stallions WR Kevin Austin Jr., Saints: Kevin Austin was activated once again for the Saints, and produced. In their dominant takedown of the Jets, Austin had two receptions for 18 yards, on three targets.

Stars DT LaBryan Ray, Panthers: Ray was effective for Carolina, with two tackles on just 13 defensive snaps. PFF graded him at 72.2 defensively for the day.

Stallions K Harrison Mevis, Rams: Mevis was very active on Thursday night for the Rams, with 13 total points. Unfortunately, he missed a late field goal, that in hindsight, might have cost Los Angeles the game, as it went into overtime and they lost.

Final Thoughts

We once again had a jam-packed weekend of UFL to NFL players making an impact on the gridiron. Kickers and defensive linemen stepped up across the board during week sixteen. Every storyline, once again, proves how important the UFL and spring football is to the pro football ecosystem.

It’s worth noting that former Stars WR, Maurice Alexander Jr., was also activated by the Chicago Bears. He did not record any statistics, though.
