It was a very busy week for UFL to NFL action across the league. After a Christmas day full of former spring football players making an impact, Sunday and Monday brought even more storylines our way.
Let’s take a look at what went down over the final two days of NFL action in week seventeen.
Cleveland Browns
TE Sal Cannella, Renegades
K Andre Szmyt, Battlehawks
LS Rex Sunahara, Brahmas
After six years of playing spring football, Sal Cannella finally got an opportunity to make his NFL regular season debut. Cannella played well in his first action, with two receptions for 11 yards in Cleveland’s upset win over Pittsburgh.
Andre Szmyt continued his strong campaign in Cleveland, with two made field goals and an XP. His long of 50 yards is no surprise, given all of his 50+ yarders in the UFL in 2024.
New Orleans Saints
WR Kevin Austin Jr., Stallions
It was a big day for Kevin Austin Jr., who’s been making the most of his opportunity with the Saints. He scored the late go-ahead touchdown for New Orleans – his first NFL touchdown of his career. Kevin had five receptions for 46 yards and a score vs. Tennessee.

Atlanta Falcons
WR Chris Blair, Defenders
DT LaCale London, Battlehawks
Chris Blair was activated once again by Atlanta, and while he didn’t see any snaps offensively, Blair made a tackle on special teams. Meanwhile, LaCale London had another impressive outing, with four tackles in the upset win over Los Angeles.
Other UFL To NFL Performances
Maulers DT Jeremiah Pharms Jr., Patriots: Pharms was added to the active roster late in the week, yet made an impact – as the veteran always does. Jeremiah totaled one tackle in the 42-10 shellacking over New York.
Stars DT LaBryan Ray, Panthers: LaBryan Ray continues to see limited action in Carolina, but he did notch one tackle in the 27-10 loss to Seattle.
Stallions K Harrison Mevis, Rams: Mevis put together another perfect performance, with three made XP’s and a 35 yard field goal for Los Angeles.
