New Jersey Generals | Week 1 Report

TSU Tigers in the USFL: Tim Walton

Up next for the Texas Southern University (TSU) Tigers in the United States Football League (USFL) is 24-year-old Tim Walton.

Walton, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker out of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, was selected by the New Jersey Generals in the 30th round of the 2022 USFL Draft.

After starting his collegiate career at Syracuse (as a redshirt in 2016 through his junior year in 2019), Walton transferred to TSU as a senior graduate student for the 2021 season.

In his lone season with the Tigers, Walton garnered four tackles (three solo) along with three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Bringing us to the 2022 season for the Generals, where Walton was transferred to the team’s active roster on April 30 prior to unfortunately being released by New Jersey on May 19.

He now awaits his next call for action on the gridiron, whether that be in upcoming spring leagues or the NFL.

Fun facts: Walton was a five-time Syracuse University Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selection and was rated the No. 4 outside linebacker in Michigan by Scout.com entering the 2016 season. He also majored in psychology and has future aspirations to become a sports commentator.

In addition, according to his bio on the official TSU website, his mother and father are his biggest inspirations, his favorite movie is “any Marvel movie,” and his favorite food is “mom’s mac and cheese.”

Good stuff.

Hopefully we’ll be seeing this guy on the football field again soon; only time will tell.
