Pittsburgh Maulers Sign Former NFL First Round LB Reuben Foster

The Pittsburgh Maulers continue to make major moves this week. Ian Rapoport broke a huge story today: Reuben Foster is signing with the Maulers for the 2023 USFL season.

This is incredible news for the Maulers organization. Reuben Foster was an outstanding linebacker coming out of Alabama. In his final year at the school, Foster racked up 115 tackles and five sacks.

Clearly, Foster was a big name in the NFL draft. He was taken in the first round of the 2017 draft by the San Francisco 49ers. In his first couple of years in the NFL, Reuben played quite well.

Unfortunately, a torn ACL in his knee turned everything upside down in 2019. This led to his release by the 49ers, and Foster hasn’t been the same since. He did have a stint with the Washington Commanders in 2020, but never saw playing time.

Now, Reuben is in a position to revive his professional career in the USFL. The Pittsburgh Maulers will look to utilize his raw talent as Ray and Jarren Horton build a tough and versatile Pittsburgh defense.

The Maulers have had a crazy week. The team revealed a new logo and color scheme, to more appropriately fit their city. Then, it was announced on Wednesday that the team will be playing in the Canton Hub.

As the 2023 USFL season fast approaches, keep an eye on this team. The Pittsburgh Maulers are looking for revenge in year two.
