New Orleans Breakers Re-Sign Safety Jarey Elder For 2024

New Orleans Breakers Re-Sign Safety Jarey Elder For 2024

The New Orleans Breakers are slowly but surely bringing key pieces back. Safety Jarey Elder has officially re-signed for the 2024 USFL season, which is excellent news for this defense.

Jarey Elder has been an integral defensive playmaker for the New Orleans Breakers through two seasons. In 2022, he helped lead the Breakers to the playoffs, posting 44 tackles while starting in all ten games.

During the 2023 USFL season, Jarey Elder once again started in all ten affairs. He was excellent, finishing with 50 tackles, a sack, and two interceptions.

Elder also played a role on special teams, returning eight punts for 93 total yards.

Now, Jarey Elder will look to build upon his impressive USFL career, returning to New Orleans for another season. The USFL is not his only spring football experience. Elder played with the Blues in The Spring League back in 2021.

Final Thoughts

The New Orleans Breakers have been pretty quiet so far in the offseason. GM Ryan Jones has made a couple of recent moves, re-signing:

P Matt White
LS Turner Bernard

They also signed free agent OL Sidney Wells. OT Kai Absheer was re-actived off of the retired list, but was released as the team is heading in another direction.
